As we decided to close the subscription service and decided to do which we think is better, this post is just about it.

The idea is to provide really good food seamlessely at easily accessible places in quick time. In simple language, we would be selling packed fresh meals just next door to you. You can buy it whenever you want, no need to subscribe. And yes it won’t take you more than 10mins to go and buy it. There would be three diff. combos of the price 50, 75, 90 with diff. menu everyday and night. We are focusing on quality and variety, customization is something which have kept aside for a time to come.

We will be starting with Aundh and then would expand to Baner, Pashan, Pimple Saudagar and then other parts of Pune. In Aundh we are finalizing locations where we can keep the meals. Mostly we would just keep at grocery stores from where you can purchase meals or we will have our small kiosk in existing shop. We are having tie ups with housewives, who loves to cook, to prepare the food. This is major shift from the previous form of Mealnut where we used to cook the food by employing staff. But after working with labour in kitchen, we are pretty sure that we would be better managing housewives than managing unskilled, insincere employees.

When we look back, it was tough decision to wind up a business which had healthy revenue was 2.5lacs/month with growth rate of 20% month on month which could have made us profitable in couple of months. But we had to take leap of faith to build a profit making business which can reach to millions of users than being stuck to limited user base. In last one month, we met some of the amazing people who have successful food startups under their belt and got valuable feedback. Both negative and positive. Also we got a crucial financial help from one of these founders of well known food startup who is also helping us in lot of stuff. We would reveal his name if he is comfortable.

We will keep you updated on the progress. Do share what you think of the idea.
